What is the best time for the Poon Hill sunrise trek?
October to December and February to May are ideal. October-November delivers the clearest skies and best mountain views. March-April adds blooming rhododendron forests. The sunrise panorama from Poon Hill is spectacular year-round, but monsoon (June-September) can obscure the views.
How much does the Poon Hill trek cost from Pokhara?
Our 5-day Poon Hill Sunrise trek is $649 per person, fully inclusive - accommodation, all meals, licensed guide, porter, TIMS card, and ACAP permit. No hidden costs, no surprise extras on trail.
How do I get from Pokhara to the Poon Hill trek start?
The trek starts at Nayapul, approximately 42km from Pokhara (1.5 hours by jeep). All transfers are included in your Annapurna Trails package - we pick you up from your hotel in Pokhara and drop you back after the trek.
Can I do the Poon Hill trek without a guide?
Under 2023 Nepal trekking regulations, an authorised guide is now mandatory on all Annapurna-area trails. Independent trekking without a licensed guide can result in fines at permit checkpoints. All our packages include a licensed, English-speaking guide as standard.

My first trek ever and it was beyond perfect. The sunrise from Poon Hill genuinely brought me to tears - nothing prepares you for seeing the entire Himalayan range lit up like that. Our guide Hari was outstanding.

The rhododendron forests in March were unbelievably beautiful. Annapurna Trails had everything organised from the moment we arrived in Pokhara. Perfect 5 days, perfect team.
